If you would like to apply for help from Cumbria County Council Adult Social Care, you should contact our Customer Services team at your nearest Cumbria County Council Adult Social Care office (link below) and ask for an assessment of need.
We use assessments of need to help us identify your needs. Once we know your needs, we can then discuss with you the different ways in which your needs may be met. This may include providing or arranging services for you, if you are eligible for them. We cannot provide services to everyone so we use eligibility criteria alongside your assessment to help us decide if you are eligible for services.
If you are eligible for services and you would like to receive them, we will draw up a care plan which will detail what services you will receive.
We can respond quickly to your enquiry if it is urgent. In am emergency, we aim to respond within 24 hours of your enquiry. For all other requests we aim to:
- complete your assessment of need within two weeks of your enquiry; and
- arrange the services agreed at your assessment within four weeks of completing your assessment, although in most cases it will be much quicker.
