Mental Health Problems - The Care Programme Approach
The Care Programme Approach is a way of planning and co-ordinating services for people with mental illnesses who are receiving help from specialist mental health services. To do this, it ensures that:
- social workers work closely with staff in the Health Service and other organisations;
- you have a proper assessment of your need;
- your views and wishes are taken into account;
- a key worker is chosen to be your main contact person; and
- a care plan is produced.
