Carers assessment

How do I find out more?

To find out more, you can either:

  • contact Customer Services at your local Cumbria County Council Adult Social Care or Children's Services office;
  • speak to your social worker, occupational therapist or community psychiatric nurse (if you have one); or
  • contact your local carers association.

Click on the link below to access contact details for the above.

If you (or the person for whom you care) do not currently have a social worker, you can contact our Customer Services staff at your local office.  Customer Services will ask you for some details about yourself and the person for whom you care (if they would like to be involved) and will arrange for someone to visit you.  This may be:

  • a social worker, occupational therapist or social care worker (from Cumbria County Council);
  • a carers support worker (from a carers association); or
  • a family support worker (from Making Space, a support group working with the families of people with mental health problems).
