What help is available?
The services and support we can arrange for carers include:
- information and advice;
- support to help you care and to maintain your health and wellbeing;
- breaks which offer you time away from caring; and
- emotional support.

Any help provided will be subject to an assessment of your needs. Depending on the service, this may require an assessment of your needs or an assessment of the needs of the person you look after, or both. Some services, such as personal care, may also require the consent of both you and the person you look after.
There may be a charge for some services. Charges for some services are fixed, for example, meals on wheels and day care provided away from home at a day centre. However, others like home care and residential care, will depend on your finances and those of the person you care for.
We will ensure you are fully informed of any cost before a service is arranged.
