The proposal is to develop a 60 unit mixed tenure extra care housing scheme at Low Meadow. This will incorporate apartments, bungalows and houses, the latter specifically designed for people with physical disabilities forming a core and cluster scheme.
Low Meadow will be the first new build multi tenure extra care scheme to be built in Cumbria. The proposed development aspires to high standards of architectural and landscape detail introducing sustainable construction techniques, green roofs, renewable energy sources and low energy consumption.
The main bid document (see below) sets out the proposals based around the criteria for assessment set out in the Department of Health bidding guidelines, together with a profile of the scheme itself, who it will house, the service and community model, and the project delivery plan.
