Since 2010 Cumbria County Council has used the national government guidance called "Fairer Contributions" to work out how much people who receive non-residential social care services from the council should pay towards the cost of those services.
A support plan shows how you would like your support needs to be met and what this will cost. The support plan must then be agreed by the council, and the full cost of the services in the agreed support plan is called your personal budget.
You may have chosen to receive money from the council to buy your own services or ask the council to arrange them for you.
