Directory of Services

Welcome to this new directory of services from Cumbria County Council’s Adult Social Care.  The aim of the directory is to act as a signpost to sources of services and support.  As only brief information is included, you may well need to contact organisations to find out more about what they do, who it is for, any costs and availability.

The directory includes contact details and a brief description of organisations providing services and support in your area. The organisations are grouped under headings for the kinds of services and support they provide.  Organisations providing a range of different services will be included under the heading of their main area of work. We have included cross references to other headings where useful organisations may be found.

We have published six directories, one for each of the six district council areas of Cumbria: Carlisle, Eden, Allerdale, Copeland, South Lakeland and Barrow-in-Furness. Local organisations are included in the directory for the area in which they are based. You may find that organisations provide services to neighbouring districts too so you may wish to look at directories for those areas if you cannot find what you are looking for. We have also included some of the main national and regional organisations who provide services across the county.

For people who have used our previous directories, you will see we’ve made a lot of changes. We have included a wider range of organisations and changed the headings to make the directory easier to use and find information.
We no longer publish a countywide directory.  People needing information for the whole of Cumbria will need to refer to the six local directories. 

The six directories can be downloaded below.  If you prefer a printed copy, these are available, free of charge, from Customer Services at your local office.
