An Occupational Therapist will help people who are unable or have become unable to perform everyday tasks. For example: preparing a meal or doing the shopping.
The Occupational Therapist can also assess the mental, physical and social needs of the individual and provide support tailored to their needs.
There are however many different roles within an occupational therapists career. There is great deal of choice for specialising in certain areas and different job role. For example you could become a practitioner, researcher, manager, lecturer or consultant.
There are also different fields, such as, social care, education, mental health, physical rehabilitation and learning disabilities.
