Your social care records - What is in the records?

We keep information about our work with people who use our services.  This information is kept in records which may be in writing or on computer.  If you have been in contact with us, have met with our staff or received services from us, then we may have some records about you and our work with you.  Sometimes, we will keep records about family members, other relatives and carers too.

The person you deal with, usually a social worker, social care worker or occupational therapist, will:

  • tell you if we will be keeping information about you
  • describe what information will be kept and why we will be keeping this
  • tell you if this information will be shared with anyone
  • explain who or what sorts of organisations this will be shared with and
  • tell you that you have the right to receive a copy of this information under our Subject Access Request Procedure
