You have the right by law to see records we keep about you. You can also have a copy of these to keep.
The Data Protection Act 1998 gives individuals the right to have access to personal information about themselves kept on computer and in writing. The Act enables you to have access to personal information about yourself held by the Council for its social care work. You can do this by making a request to have access to your records (the Act calls this a ‘subject access request’) through the council’s Subject Access Request Procedure.
