How much will it cost me?

There is no charge for your assessment and any advice we offer.

If you are eligible for services from Adult Social Care following an assessment of your needs and risks to your independence under Fair Access to Care, Critical or Substantial level, all equipment and minor adaptations will be provided free of charge.

In certain circumstances we may be able to offer a Direct Payment for some items of equipment and minor adaptations.   A Direct Payment will enable you to exercise more choice in the style of equipment or adaptation you require, with an opportunity to “top-up” from your own resources to the value of the product you wish to choose.

If we consider that your risks to independence fall within the Low or Moderate categories of the Fair access to Care services criteria, we will endeavour to provide you with alternative sources of advice and support.   However, in these circumstances, any equipment or adaptations you subsequently obtain will need to be purchased privately.
