The Occupational Therapy team may be able to provide, or arrange access to a number of services. These include:
Simple Aids to Daily Living: are small items of equipment designed to help with everyday tasks such as bathing and managing on and off the toilet. If you have ‘Critical’ or ‘Substantial’ needs as determined under Fair Access to Care Service guidance you will receive a Prescription for these “Simple aids to daily living”. You will be able to exchange the prescription for the appropriate equipment at an Accredited Retail Outlet.

Specialist Equipment and advice: to enable you to live at home more comfortably and independently. Items of specialist equipment include supportive seating, bath lifts & hoists. These and other specialist items are directly provided by the Cumbria Community Equipment Service and are available on a loan basis.
Adaptations and alterations to your property: to make your home environment safer and more accessible. These alterations can range from ‘minor adaptations’ such as grab rails and stair rails, to ‘major adaptations’ such as stair lifts and other alterations to your property. We work with a range of partner organisations such as district councils, housing associations and home repair agencies when these adaptations are needed. In some cases, grants may be available to help pay for any work required.
