Seascale

Members of the public are welcome to visit the Cumbria Archive Centres personally where they can conduct research and seek the assistance of staff free of charge. We are also happy to answer enquiries relating to the whereabouts of records, the holdings of the Cumbria Archive Service, or supply advice about the use of archives for a particular area of research. Such enquiries, whether received by post, e-mail, telephone or fax, will also be answered free of charge.

Our Historical Research Service exists to deal with more complex enquiries, and employs experienced researchers, who have unrivalled knowledge of the archives of Cumbria, to help you further with your research.

If you would like to start researching your Family History you may find it helpful to read our guide to Starting Your Cumbrian Family History first.
