Cumberland Maps

This reprint is taken from the Ordnance Survey 25 inch maps 54.4 and 54.8 revised in 1898 and published in 1900. Over two maps (reduced to a scale of 15 inches to 1 mile) it shows Cockermouth and the areas north and south. It includes an essay on the history of Cockermouth by Alan Godfrey.

This reprint is taken from the Ordnance Survey 25 inch map 67.2 revised in 1923 and published in 1925 (reduced to a scale of 15 inches to 1 mile). It  it shows the town centre of Whitehaven and the area north to Bransty and William Pit, and stretches west to show the Harbour and east to Harras. It includes a list of private residents and commercial residents of Whitehaven (surnames A-E) from a contemporary Kelly's Directory and an essay on the history of the area by Anne Dick.

This reprint is taken from the Ordnance Survey 25 inch map 67.6 revised in 1923 and published in 1925 (reduced to a scale of 15 inches to 1 mile). It  it shows the area south of the town centre of Whitehaven stretching from Preston Street and Newhouses down to Whitehaven Poor Law Institution and the Cemetery, and also shows Kells and most of Hensingham. It includes a list of commercial residents of Whitehaven (surnames F-Y) from a contemporary Kelly's Directory and an essay on the history of the area by Anne Dick.
