Licensing and registration for businesses

Certain businesses are required to obtain a license or to register before they can trade. Licensing is managed by both the county and district councils, depending on the type of business. The Registration Service can provide details on how to become an 'approved premises' for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.  Our Trading Standards department can provide advice and guidance on the following businesses:

• Poisons
