Made in Cumbria

Established by Cumbria County Council in 1989 to promote the sale of crafts, gifts and local food, Made in Cumbria provides practical business services, sales opportunities and marketing information to Cumbrian based businesses.

This is a membership organisation of over 300 small businesses across the county. Membership entitles businesses to business advice, whether this relates to the retail or wholesale of their goods, marketing support and a direct route to market through organising Farmers’ Markets, Craft Fairs and sales areas at events such as the Westmorland Show and a retail scheme at 25 Cumbria outlets.

Membership can be either full or affiliate depend upon the nature of the business concerned. Full Membership is open to any Cumbrian business whose products are wholly manufactured in Cumbria or that the last treatment or process, resulting in a substantial change, has taken place within the county. Any local businesses who do not fall into this category but would still like to support the ethos of Made in Cumbria can apply for affiliate membership.
