Welcome to the Initial Support Pack for English as an additional language learners! All schools have been sent a copy of this exciting new resource on a CD with accompanying booklet.
We have produced the Initial Support Pack as a means of providing information on how best to meet the needs of pupils with English as an additional language. We particularly wanted to provide a quick response to schools when pupils are newly arrived.
We have arranged the information in the Initial Support Pack (ISP) into folders that we hope you will find useful. The folders are:
In each folder you will find information from various sources and in various formats, including:
- SATS Information sheets on related subjects
- Copies of Government guidance
- List of key words in various languages
- Some useful classroom words and phrases in various languages
- Links to useful websites
We intend to review the ISP regularly and will add appropriate information as it becomes available.
