You said... we want to know more about what’s happening at our local youth project
We did… asked young residents to give an all-singing presentation at Longtown Neighbourhood Forum
Forum residents got a glimpse of life at their local youth centre at a recent Neighbourhood Forum.
Longtown residents were treated to an impressive display of DJ skills, table tennis and a presentation from local young people.
Residents in the area had asked our Community Unit team in Carlisle, who run the Neighbourhood Forums along with Carlisle City Council, if they could find out more about the youth project situated in the village.
The youth project meets in Longtown Community Centre and is well attended by young people. Youth Worker Tony worked hard with the young people to give the presentation to the forum.
The table tennis table was funded by a Neighbourhood Forum grant from, as chosen by residents, and there is one young person in particular at the group who is excelling in the sport as a result of the new facility.
County Councilor Val Tarbitt gave all the young people certificates order to recognise their contribution to the community.
