Cumbria Community Awards 2008

Organised by Cumbria County Council, The Cumbria Community Awards recognise and celebrate the work done by hundreds of volunteers around the county. The finalists in the Cumbria Community Awards were given their awards, designed by Cumbrian artist John Parkinson, at a special evening held at Rheged. The winners, and all entrants, were nominated for their hard work, time and effort, and a panel of judges from around the county were given the tough task of deciding on the winners. Tom Clare, Chairman of Cumbria County Council, said: “These awards are our way of thanking all those volunteers who contribute to the quality of life in Cumbria. “They bring fresh thinking, dynamism and extend services in our county.”
