Following the flooding in Cumbria in January 2005, the Environment Agency has devoted a section of its website to Cumbria Floods which gives information on the Flood Alleviation Schemes in Carlisle and the surrounding area.
It also includes lots of information on flood warning areas in Cumbria; work being undertaken by various organisations to try and reduce the impact of flooding and advice on what measures can be taken by individuals to protect their own properties.
Flooding information leaflets are available on the site for Carlisle, Cockermouth, Appleby, Kendal, Keswick, Low Crosby and Warwick Bridge that contain specific advice and contacts for those areas. Please follow the link below.
