Local Counts and County Results Centre : Cumbria County Council

Verification and/or counting of the votes cast in the County Council Elections will commence in the six local counting centres in and around the County from 9.30 am to 10.00 am on Friday 5 June 2009. The count for the European Parliament Election will not commence until Sunday 7 June 2009 and not before 9.00 pm.

Representatives of the County Council will be in attendance at the six local counting centres on Friday 5 June 2009 for the purpose of transmitting the results of the County Results Centre based at The Courts, Carlisle staffed and managed by the County Council. The venues for the local counts are:-

Allerdale - Moorclose Sports Centre, Workington

Barrow - Town Hall, Barrow-in-Furness

Carlisle - Carlisle Racecourse

Copeland - Whitehaven Civic Hall

Eden - Penrith Leisure Centre

South Lakeland - Kendal Leisure Centre

A comprehensive real-time election results service will be provided by staff at the Results Centre when the counts are confirmed. The first batch of Results are expected to be announced between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm. These will be published immediately on the Council's election website pages for the benefit of members of the public, candidates and staff.
