Cumbria County Council employs people in both social work and social care and a number of our social workers started their careers in social care roles.

Both social work and social care are about making sure that people are able to get the most from life, despite circumstances which might make this difficult. Working in social work and social care involves listening to people, understanding what they need, and supporting them to make this happen.
