With the first National Park within the heart of the county, an industrial as well as agricultural heritage and fishing tradition, Cumbria can boast a wide range of indoor and out door attractions. The growing tourist industry has led to the development of excellent facilities for visitors and locals. 

The area has a wide diversity of scenery and a large number of popular visitor attractions, including Birdoswald Roman Fort.
