Cumbria County Council's procurement strategy provides a clear corporate policy framework, management arrangements and performance information for all procurement undertaken by, or in partnership with the council.  The procurement strategy is supported by the Contract Procedures Rules which ensure that all council contracts, for the purchase of goods, works and services, including consultancy and advisory services, are awarded: in compliance with all relevant United Kingdom and European legislation and to obtain best value and secure optimum use of resources.
