Area Support Offices

We have area offices that serve all 6 districts of the county and support our network of over 60 local forums. Local staff work alongside Local Committees and County Councillors as well as with local councils, local partnerships, community and voluntary groups. Colleagues working from these offices are there to ensure that we work closely with local people to provide the best services that we possibly can to meet local needs. 

Our community engagement work includes: 

• Helping community groups through support from individual officers and County Councillors
• Arranging meetings to bring individuals, groups, departments and organisations together
• Helping local groups to participate in larger funding schemes
• Enabling groups to organise themselves more effectively
• Organising public meetings including neighbourhood forums to tackle local issues
• Providing a point of contact and a place to develop ideas
• Helping local groups to work effectively with local partnerships
• Distributing small grants
• Helping local projects supported by the County Council Local Committee
• Helping to identify local needs and wishes through a variety of consultation methods
