6/4/2005 - Best-selling author to visit Cumbria Libraries in April

Best-selling romantic novelist Freda Lightfoot will visit libraries in Kendal, Barrow, Ulverston and Penrith in April.

The author is famous for period romances, historical novels and Lakeland sagas such as Lakeland Lily, Larkrigg Fell and Bobbin Girls

Freda will be speaking on how she got started as a novelist and on the process of her own writing. She will also be on hand to sign copies of her new book, For All Our Tomorrows.

Freda was born in the Lancashire mill town of Oswaldtwistle but has lived in the Lake District for more than 30 years.

She cut her teeth as a novelist writing for Mills and Boon as well as magazines such as My Weekly and People’s Friend before being signed by publishers, Hodder and Stoughton.

Freda will be at:

Kendal Library on Thursday 14 April 2.30pm.

Barrow Library on Tuesday 19 April 2.30pm.

Penrith Library on Monday 18 April 7pm.

Ulverston Library on Wednesday 20th April 2.30pm.

Tickets should be booked in advance by calling the libraries involved.
