Young people in Carlisle will benefit from a new notice board displaying up to date information on events and activities which they can get involved in.
Cumbria County Council's Local Committee for Carlisle have granted £2,500 to the new project. The notice board will be placed outside McDonalds, a regular eating place for young people and a perfect place for the board to get noticed.
County councillor Geoff Hodgson, local councillor for the area said:
" I am pleased that the local committee has been able to support this new project. I think the notice board is a great way to make sure young people find out about the events and services that are on offer to them. Organisations will be able to promote activities and display information about what they can take part it. I am sure the youngsters in this area will find it a great way to get involved in new activities and meet new people."
Access to the notice board is through the Old Town Hall. Organisation must have been funded by Carlisle Local Committee or be a member of Cumbria Youth Alliance to display activities on the board. Contact Judith Gardner Neighbourhood Development Officer on 01228 606474 for more information.
