Residents in Eden Fells will have a chance to find out more about Cumbria County Council's plans to radically improve the facilities currently provided at Flusco.
A representative from the county council will be at the next meeting to inform local residents of the plans to transform the civic amenity site into a household waste recycling centre.
The meeting will take place at Stainton Village Hall on Thursday 8th September at 7:30pm.
County councillor Gary Strong, will be chairing the meeting. He said:
"These forum meetings give residents the opportunity to get involved in issues that are ongoing in their community. I hope that anyone in this area wanting to find out more about what is happening at Flusco and plans for its transformation come along to the next forum meeting. A representative will be on hand to answer any questions local people may have."
Other items on the agenda include:
- Time for young people - young people are encouraged to get more involved in council issues and comment on anything that affects them within their community.
- Public Transport - Caroline Watson, county council public transport officer, will explain how they can help improve local transport and listen to comments on services.
- Housing in Eden and local housing policy - Anne Rogers from Eden District Council will describe her role and district council housing policies on affordable and local housing.
- Green spaces in Eden - Eden District Council would like views on how green spaces and parks, including village play areas, in Eden should be managed.
- Local Policing - the forum will receive a report from Cumbria Police on local policing issues.
- Questions from Parish Councils and other local concerns
