The following changes are being made to these bus routes:
Barrow:
A contract to operate service 4B between North Scale and Barrow Town Hall has been issued to Stagecoach in Cumbria. The service will travel to North Scale and go as far as the Town Hall. Passengers who wish to travel through to Roose and Holbeck will be required to change buses at the Town Hall.
Millom:
A contract to operate Millom town services M1-M3 has been awarded to Stagecoach with effect from Monday 5th September. The service will continue to operate to the current timetable without any change in service. The 1000 & 1200 Monday to Friday services X7 Millom to Barrow and return will also continue to operate.
Due to requests from passengers the last bus from Barrow to Millom which departs at 2325 will be extended to serve Haverigg on a Friday and Saturday. This will take effect from 30th October.
Whitehaven:
AA travel have been awarded a contract to provide Monday to Saturday Whitehaven, Seascale and Muncaster Service with 6 journeys. Departures are at the current times of 0840 & 1220 exiting Whitehaven, returning from Muncaster at 0955 & 1331. Due to the size of vehicle operating on this contract and its ability to negotiate the railway bridge at Seascale, the village of Drigg will now be served.
The contract for the remaining Saturday journeys has been awarded to Stagecoach with departures as follows:
0750 Seascale to Whitehaven
1445 Whitehaven to Muncaster (not via Drigg)
1600 Muncaster to Whitehaven (not via Drigg)
1756 Whitehaven to Seascale and 1845 Seascale to Whitehaven
the service 6 will be maintained at the current operating times.
Two morning and evening journeys will be provided by Stagecoach between Whitehaven and Arlecdon, Rowrah and Asby operating as service 17/17H. Stagecoach are withdrawing service 19 between Whitehaven and Arlecdon and Rowrah from Monday 5th September.
Certain 219 journeys already operate via Arlecdon and Rowrah the remaining services will be diverted the same way to fill the gaps left by the withdrawal of service. This will maintain the level of frequency of service for Arlecdon and Rowrah. Inter-ticketing has been negotiated with Stagecoach so that passengers can purchase a through ticket to Whitehaven which will be valid on both Reays Coaches and Stagecoach services.
During the reconstruction of Ennerdale a demand-responsive taxi service was provided which was used very infrequently, approximately once per week. Therefore, journeys on service 219 will be replaced by a demand-responsive service to Cleator Moor, to access services to Whitehaven and Cockermouth.
This will be operated by Ginger Minicabs on 01946 815811. Passengers wishing to use the service need to pre-book 0930 on the day of travel, preferably the day before. The service will operate Monday to Saturday but only if booked.

Returning from Cleator Moor at 12:50 and 15:50.
Carlisle:
Service 620 Carlisle to Caldbeck, Raughton Head and back to Carlisle has changed in operator from Caldew Coaches to Stagecoach. The service has been re-routed to provide a new service for the village of Ivegill, a village which previously didn't have a bus service. Minor changes to the times has been made to accommodate diversion via Ivegill. On Wednesdays only.
