Cumbria County Council appoints new Coporate Director for Adult Services

Cumbria County Council has appointed Jill Stannard as the new Corporate Director for Adult Services. 

Jill Stannard has worked in social care in Hampshire for 23 years. For the last four years she has been Hampsire County Council's Assistant Director of Social Services, with responsibility for Adult Services. She has a proven track record of delivering service improvements and working successfully with health authorities and district councils and is looking forward to working with Cumbria County Council's many partners.

Jill Stannard says:

"I am looking forward to joining Cumbria County Council and to working with council collegues, external partners and the people of Cumbria."

"I am committed to ensuring adult services are responsive to the residents of the county and offer the best possible services. I will strive to ensure that people with learning disabilites and mental health problems are fully able to access community services and that older people are able to live independently in their homes with the support of the County Council's Adults Services Directorate."

Jill is 47 and enjoys fell walking with her husband.
