14/2/2007 - Windermere and Staveley District Neighbourhood Forum on February 21st

The next Windermere and Staveley District Neighbourhood Forum will be held at The Rayrigg Rooms, Bowness, on Wednesday, February 21st.

Jim Grisenthwaite, Head of Culture at Cumbria County Council, will talk about plans to make a bid to the Big Lottery for funds to make improvements at Windermere Library.

From 7pm, residents will have the opportunity to talk to officers from the Lake District National Park Authority, county, district and parish councils, the police and the Town Centre Manager to raise issues and concerns prior to the forum starting at 7.30pm.

Also on the agenda are updates on a range of local issues raised at previous forum meetings including a youth shelter, recycling, Braithwaite Fold, graffiti, Windermere Magistrates Court and a new lengthsman scheme. 

Bill Smith from the South Lakes Development Trust will talk about the potential for improvement to the Ellerthwaite Square and Gardens area of Windermere and will welcome your ideas.

Bob Sutcliffe will provide an update on the work of the National Park Authority.

The forum will also give the opportunity to swap local information and diary dates and listen to representatives from local groups applying for forum grants.
