The A684 Sedbergh to Garsdale road will be closed for six-and-a-half hours a day for eight days from 9am on Friday, March 2nd, when Cumbria Highways begins work reconstructing 3,250m of road.
The road will need to be closed between 9am and 3.30pm on the Friday and Saturday and again on between Monday, March 5th, and Saturday, March 10th. It will open as usual on Sunday, March 4th, and at all other times.
The closure times have been chosen to allow school buses through and to minimise disruption to local businesses and residents who, along with the parish council, have been kept informed of the £320,000 scheme.
The A684 will be opened if emergency services need to get through. Also, anyone with a compelling reason to avoid the closure, such as a wedding party needing to get through, can call engineer Nick Raymond on 01539 773006 to discuss a special arrangement.
