4/1/2007 - Family Reading Fortnight comes to Copeland

Family Reading Fortnight starts next week (8-20 January) and to mark the event, Copeland libraries are laying on a host of fun-packed events.

Whether its attending special rhyme-time sessions or creating a Christmas memento there's plenty on offer for mums, dads and carers looking to entertain their children.

On Tuesday 9 January, families with pre-school children can enjoy a special half-hour rhyme-time session at Cleator Moor Library which starts at 10:30am.

On Thursday 11 January, families with children aged four and over will get the chance to create a special Christmas memento at Millom Library. Children are asked to bring wrapping paper, cards and any seasonal photos to the scrap-booking session, which runs from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, where they will get the chance to create a festive collage.

On Sunday 14 January, the Daniel Hay Library will be scaring the birds with an hour of scarecrow related fun which gets underway at 2:30am.

There's another hour of scrap-booking at the Daniel Hay Library on Tuesday 16 January starting from 3:45pm.

Egremont Library joins the fun on Thursday 18 January from 10:30am to 11:00am when staff will be entertaining pre-school children and their families with a rhyme-time session.

The fortnight of family reading events ends in the Daniel Hay Library on Sunday 21 January with an hour of outer space activities from 2:30pm.

Children at each must be accompanied by an adult family member or carer.
