11/1/2007 - Family Reading Fortnight comes to South Lakeland

Family Reading Fortnight kicked off in South Lakeland this week (8-20 January) and to mark the event, Cumbria's Library Service is laying on two fun-packed events for mums, dads, carers and children.

On Monday 15 January, Cumbria County Council's Access Mobile vehicle will be parking up outside Morrisons supermarket in Kendal. Between 10:30am and 4:00pm, shoppers will be able to a pop in for a tips on family reading activities, details on the BBC's RaW (reading and writing) campaign, and information on how to become a library member.

The Milnthorpe Children's Centre gets into the fun on Saturday 20 January with storytime and rhymtime sessions just some of the events on offer between 1:00pm and 3:30pm for families with children aged five and under.
