One of Carlisle’s oldest residents celebrates her 100 birthday on Saturday (3 May 2008).
Mrs Hilda Addison, a resident of Cumbria County Council’s Langrigg House residential home, is looking forward to receiving her birthday telegram from the Queen.
Photographers are invited to join Hilda at a special celebration party at Langrigg House, Langrigg Road, Carlisle on Friday 2 May 2008, at 2:00pm
Hilda was born in Longtown, the youngest of nine children, in the same year (1908) the Olympic Games were held in London and the Boy Scout movement was formed by Lord Baden-Powell.
She married her husband Jack in 1927 and had four children. She now has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Hilda has been a parishioner of St Barnabas Church in Carlisle since 1939 and is the oldest member of St Barnabas Mother’s Union (69-years).
