Work to redecorate Cumbria County Council’s Kendal Record Office means parts of the building normally open to the public, including the search-room, will be closed from Monday 18 February for two weeks.
During the redecoration, a restricted service will be in operation with members of the public required to make an appointment to see original archive documents and maps. Full access will be provided again from Monday 3 March.
Popular family history sources, such as the Westmorland Parish Registers, will continue to be available from the Local Studies section of Kendal Library.
