11/2/2008 - Saving energy and shifting sewage at Wetheral and Stanwix rural forum

Cumbria Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (CEEAC) and United Utilities head up the agenda at the next meeting of the Wetheral and Stanwix Rural Neighbourhood Forum on Thursday 21 February.

The forum, at Cumwhitton Village Hall, begins at 7.30pm and offers residents an opportunity to get advice from CEEAC about how to save energy in their homes.

This will be followed by Duncan Fone from United Utilities, who will provide information about proposed first time sewerage at Linston.

There will also be an opportunity to talk to local police officers about issues affecting the community, and Cumbria Fire & Rescue service will also be along.

Feedback on issues raised at previous forums will be available, and there will be a discussion about the most recent grants budget applications received from local community groups.

For further information about any of the items above, contact Neighbourhood Development Officer Judith Gardner at Cumbria County Council. Telephone: (01228) 606474.

Note

There are over 60 neighbourhood forums across Cumbria, each meeting at least four times a year. In Carlisle, the neighbourhood forums are run jointly by the county and city councils.

The forums are organised by area support teams and are various shapes and sizes because they are are tailored to suit a particular area

The local county or city councillor usually chairs these meetings and ensures that vital matters are reported back to local committees or district councils so that the necessary actions can be taken
