28/1/2008 - Social care support survey

A new survey which will help build a picture of life in Cumbria for people who need grab rails, bath seats and other equipment and minor adaptations to help them live at home, is being sent to a randomly selected sample of service users around the county next week (4 Februrary).

The Annual User Experience Survey is being carried out by Cumbria County Council. Postal and telephone questionnaires will be sent to around 1,000 adults with audio and Braille versions available on request for people with sensory impairments.

Cumbria Adult Social Care Services arranges around 2,000 adaptations each year to the homes of older and disabled people.

The results from the survey, which will be published before the end of the year, will be used by Cumbria County Council and the Department of Health to help build a clearer picture of where improvements can be made in the support given to people who need extra support to live at home.
