Cumbria County Council’s new Dalton-in-Furness day centre will be officially opened on Friday 11 July, at 2:30pm.
Photographers are invited to the centre on Chapel Street which supports around 30 older people from across south Cumbria to continue living independently.
Joining staff and service users for the official opening will be councillor Bill Wearing, cabinet member for Health and Wellbeing at Cumbria County Council, and Barrow MP John Hutton.
The new facility replaces St. Jude’s day centre in Ulverston which closed earlier this year following a decision by the building’s owners to put the site to different use.
The county council hopes to return the centre to Ulverston when suitable premises can be found.
