There will be some temporary disruption at Carlisle Library over the next few weeks while a new children’s area and separate teenage area are installed.
The work is due to take place over several phases, beginning on Wednesday 12 March and ending in April.
There will be reduced children’s activities during this time. The last activity before work commences - a Baby Bounce and Rhyme session - will take place on Tuesday 11 March.
The main children’s area will be closed from Monday 17 March, although young people will still be able to borrow items as usual.
Once completed, the library will boast a new ‘castle’ themed area for young library goers to enjoy and a special zone for teenagers.
The improvements are being funded and supported by a government Performance Reward Grant, the CN Group Fund, Pirelli and Agilysis.
