Plans to improve residential care facilities for older people in Penrith will be discussed at the next Neighbourhood Forum at the town's Methodist Church on Monday (17 March).
Cumbria County Council is currently consulting on plans to replace the town’s existing council-run care home, Greengarth, with a new state-of-the-art home on an alternative site.
Earlier in the day, the public will have the chance to learn more about the council’s plans at a special drop-in session at the church with Adult Social Care staff.
The session runs from 10.30 until 12.30 and is an opportunity for people to raise any questions about the council's proposals.
At 7pm the Forum gets underway in the same venue with another chance to speak to Adult Social Care staff about the care improvement proposals.
Later in the meeting, there will be an opportunity to hear more about the public consultation into plans to turn the North Cumbria Acute Hospitals Trust into a Foundation Trust.
Feedback on issues raised at previous forums will also be given alongside an opportunity to listen to representatives or publicise any local information and raise any other issues.
More information on the care home improvement proposals, including a copy of the full consultation document, can be found at http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/adultsocialcare/carehomesconsultation/
