6/5/2008 - Festival promises writ-large literary entertainment

Cumbria County Council’s Library Service will be lighting up the literary scene at a special festival in Bowness-on Solway next month (27-29 June).

Organised by top children’s scriptwriter Jim Eldridge, the two-day ‘Writ on the Wall 2008’ festival is a celebration of all thing literary.

Cumbria’s links to the Arthurian legend, and the influence the county had on John Keats’ writing are just some of the highlights visitors to Bowness-on Solway’s first literary festival can expect.

The county council’s access-mobile - a vehicle specially designed to take library services and information out into the community - will be on site throughout the event to provide activities for younger festival goers.

A full list of events is available on the ‘Writ on the Wall 2008’ festival website at http://www.writfest.co.uk/index.html (external link)
