Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service is offering pre-school children the chance to burn off some energy and get some basic fire safety education.
Firefighters from Workington will be holding two special sessions at the town’s Monkey Madhouse soft-play centre on 23 May for children aged 3-5 years-old, with their parents and carers.
The free sessions, which will run from 10-11am and 11-12noon, have been arranged following a number of recent house fires in the Workington area started by young children playing with combustible materials.
Places are limited and parents and carers are asked to book places early by contacting Susan Denyer at Workington fire on 01900-609562.
Councillor Gary Strong, cabinet member for Community Development and Safety at Cumbria County Council, said: "It is never too early to get fire safety education.
"The event in Workington is open to pre-school children from Allerdale and Copeland and will give them the chance to learn through play."
