Green-fingered Carlisle residents are being invited to stock up on their bedding plants and hanging baskets at Cumbria County Council’s Garden Linx annual spring sale.

The big spring sale will be taking place at the Cemetary on Richardson Street, Carlisle on Saturday 9 May, from 8am to 2pm.

The plants are all grown from seed by people with disabilities involved in the Garden Linx project, which is run by the county council’s adults and culture directorate.

22 adults currently attend Garden Linx, which has been running for over 20 years.

Media are also invited to attend on the day, where there will be opportunities to interview service users and staff.
