29/5/2009 - Mid-summer murder in Cumbria

Best selling crime writers will host a series of exciting events in Cumbria libraries this June as part of a mid-summer murder crime writing festival.

Highly acclaimed, best selling authors, including Sophie Hannah, Ann Cleeves and R J Ellory will host author events where they will talk about their work, read extracts, take questions from the floor and sign books.

Matt Hilton - the Aspatria ex-policeman discovered last year and offered a record-breaking £800,000 debut book deal –will discuss his first novel Dead Men’s Dust at Carlisle library.

As part of the festival, Carlisle Library will also be holding a Victorian murder mystery evening event on 26 June. The evening will be hosted by crime writer Martin Edwards who has written a script for the event and will be read by four actors from The Green Room in a unique murder mystery ‘role play’ event.
