Limestone pavement orders are orders made by the County Council on the advice of what is now Natural England to protect areas of limestone pavement considered particularly valuable for their geology, geomorphology, flora and fauna. There are currently 54 Limestone Pavement Orders in place across Cumbria.
It is an offence to damage Limestone Pavement or remove stone from them. Shoud you suspect anyone of damaging limestone pavement please contact our Enforcement Officer via developmentcontrol@cumbria.gov.uk or Tel. 01539 713 422.
