The County Councilís Development Control Team is responsible for assessing planning applications for minerals and waste related developments and the county council's own developments (such as schools, offices and highway depots) within Cumbria outside of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
Planning applications for residential, commercial and all other types of development are dealt with by the district councils unless the site lies in a national park. The National Park Authorities deal with all planning applications that are within their boundaries. The contact details for these local planning authorities can be found here.
