This sets out how the County Council encourages people to participate in preparing the Minerals and Waste Development Framework and in the consideration of planning applications for which the County Council makes the decision.

The formal consultation period for the "Pre-Submission Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)" took place in May to July 2005.

The SCI was amended to take account of the representations that were made and was confirmed as being sound by the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the First Secretary of State on the 23rd December 2005.  It was adopted by Cumbria County Council on the 19th January 2006 and is available to download below (as a pdf file).
