Site Allocations Policies and Proposals Maps

The stages the County Council's Site Allocations Policies and Proposals Maps' have been through several stages which are listed sequentially below. The Policies were initially adopted in January 2011 following a public examination. However, this document was quashed following a High Court Challenge. Subsequently, the County Council repeated the Regulation 27 Consultation stage on these documents and, having taken account of the representations received, has resubmitted them for inspection by the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the Secretary of State.

The Core Strategy and Generic Development Control Policies

The Core Strategy and Generic Development Control Policies were adopted in April 2009. This followed a public examination in November 2008 by two Inspectors appointed by the Secretary of State.
