Excess postage charges:
We have had a high number of requests by the post office to pay the shortfall in postal charges for letters sent to the Cumbria Registration Service. We are unable to pay any additional charges on behalf of senders, and accept no liability for items either delayed or undelivered due to incorrect postal fee paid by a sender. Please ensure the correct postage fee paid at the time of sending. 

Appointments system:
Please note that ALL offices in Cumbria operating an appointment system for birth and death registrations, and for the giving of marriage or Civil Partnership notices. If you wish to carry out any of the  above, please ensure you make an appointment prior to attending any of our offices.
